Fender Flares

Good day all, this is my first post.

I have read through the FAQ, and I still need some help. I just purchased a '94 FZJ80, and the previous owner ripped of the RR fender flare. There are some bolts sticking out through the sidewall now, and so I was wondering......what is the best way to get to the back of them to take them out? Do I take out the interior panel or are they accessed from from the underside through the wheel well?

Thanks in advance for help.

Joe

Pop out the interior panel, it's held in by a bunch of plastic clips, just be careful and pop them out one at a time. A good place to start pulling it off is the third row seatbelt slot at the top of the panel. I take it removing the bolts means you're going flareless?

Thanks for the info. Any special or recommended tool for the plastic clips?

As far as going flareless........the 80 is primarily going to be our vacation ride, and I am not sure that it would fly. The 62 is the trail rig for the time-being.

No tool required for the clips.

I have 3 flares for sale if you need one. They are Moon Glow Pearl but you could always rhino all of the flares for a perfect match with any color.

Where are you located. Likely to be a cruiserhead in the area that could help. Lots of us have removed flares and either durabaked them or just left them off.

Doing a little search in the 80's section on flare removal or durabaked flares will get you some pics and instructions you might find of use.

Good Luck!

Thanks for all of the help guys! I am located in Montana and had lurked here for a little while.

Bluetriabal: I will think about your offer......great price! I am assuming that the '96 and '94 flares are the same.
