Newby intro

I've been checking this site out for some time now and finaly decided to join. I have owned several Toyota's in my days from a 81 pickup with a 90 celica motor, 1973 fj-40, Now I currently own a 94 fj-80 I've owned it for 3 years now bought it with 140,000 it now has 197,000 and I have put maybe 500.00 into it runs great. I'm looking into getting a lift for it soon and bumpers. Is there any place to buy a bumper for a good deal? Looking for front and rear bumpers. I'm used to the jeep prices. Can't believe what they are asking for them for the fj-80....

Welcome!

There are a lot of vendors on the site that do custom products at very reasonable prices....Check them out in the vendor section. You can also use the search function to help narrow your search to lead you in the direction that you want to go in regards to certain styles, winch vs non winch, swing out tire carrier, jerry can holders, etc...

Oh yeah, post up a pic!!

50,000 miles and only $500 spent on a 13 year old rig? Can't beat it! Being a PO of Heeps as well (3 XJs, 1 YJ), I was lucky to spend that in just 6 months on one! I just replaced my son's XJ w/a 4Runner (we've had 3) and w/only 150K on the ODO we know we have y-e-a-r-s to go onthe drivetrain. You ARE going to spend more on upgrades like bumpers/sliders on your 80, but if if you buy from the vendors here on MUD, your post-purchase experiences will be returned 10 fold. Try calling 4Wheel Parts with a question on SS brake lines...Christo at Slee is more than happy to discuss the pros/cons of anything 80 related. This site is by far the most knowledgable on ANY vehicle that I have found, and searching will reward you with tons of info and opinions regarding upgrades such as suspension and armor.

Oh Yeah, welcome to the addiction!
