John Deere bulbs

I ordered the brighter bulbs from John Deere last Friday. The price dropped back down some. They were only $23.99. I believe they were up over $40 last I heard.

Would you mind posting the part number(s), along with Dealer name and phone? Also, did you upgrade the harness for the new bulbs, and do the new bulbs require trimming at the base? Thank you

It is the one on Parker rd. just before Mississippi. I haven't received them yet. They should be in tomorrow. Also, I did upgrade the harness. The part number is # AH211917.

You do not need to upgrade the harness, you do need to trim the base (if you can trim your own fingernails, you should be able to do this).

I did the harness first. Actually noticed the factory bulbs where brighter. Than the bulbs came in. Someone swapped their factory blown bulb into the box and returned. So, I got 1 good bulb and 1 blown factory bulb. They gladly replaced. For 2 days I ran 1 upgraded bulb. Seeing the two shine on a wall, the John Deere was noticeably brighter. Definitely worth it!

i ordered @ a dozen John Deer bulbs about six months ago, but they were no where near $40 or $23 per bulb. My tolal invoice was like $125 for the 12 bulbs. They were only like $8 and change (+tax) per bulb. Have they gone up that much in price in six months, or are your local dealers just reaming you? I'll go check my local dealer to see what their current price is in the bulbs. Ya, at $40 bucks a pop, I wouldn't have ordered a dozen!

The price did came down to about $9 a pop months ago - I did verify with my local John Deere supplier. Had I known it'd go back up, I'd have ordered a dozen

I found these at www.bulbster.com. they are 80 watt bulbs that fit with no modification since they are "9006" drop in replacements. You can get the normal high watt (hw) for under $5.00. The high watt Super white (hw-sw) is under $10.00. This is just a blue tint on the bulb which makes it look whiter. Personally, I don't think the blue tint is worth doubling the cost. They also have 100 watt brights for the 80 (9005 code) Again, this is a direct replacement bulb. No modification needed.
