Mud Bogging?

My brother in law wants me to enter my 285/75R16 MTR '96 TLC into a mud bogging drag race thing. I'm half considering it, though on a power to weight ratio I have not hopes of winning.

So... I'm looking for advice.

Low range or High range?

Fully locked or leave the front end open so I can steer?

Stupid idea? Yep. I'm aware of that.

Mate, your just going to have to do it! And take lots of pics.
No matter what you drive, your not going to beet ppl who have a bigger budget and dont have to drive home!
I like low range cause it gives me more gears(manual).
I have a spare, race only altinator, and de-gas the A/C and pull the condenser - makes washing out the radiator easier. Sponsorship helps here- dont be afraid to ask.
Plenty of duct tape, grease and wd40 to waterproof things and your good to go.

Have fun

Matt

edit - the 70srs in my avitar pic is my old comp truck - but coils beets grunt!

4-High and lock the rear. Is it a course or just a straight shot through a slew?
Straight shot---lock the front and rear. And its a race so 4L might not get you to the finish line in time. My .02

4 hi locked. Hook up your recovery strap before the comp and pull it through the sun roof and close it. Water proof as stated above. Be ready for a hefty repair bill.
