Question Snorkel and AC

I don't know if it's me or if something is wrong, but I have noticed that after getting the snorkel, the AC doesn't work well! Don't get me wrong it works but doesn't cool anywhere as good as it used to! Before the snorkel I used to have to turn off the AC while it's on LOW cause it would get too cold but now I put the AC just under HIGH and it's no where close!

Any input on that?

In a previous post, I remember a picture of someone sitting in your engine bay while they were doing the install. They were really close to a lot of A/C components and easily could have broken something.

More likely it got hotter outside.

Seriously, I can't think of any reason your A/C would change due to a snorkel, but I don't have one.

X2. The guy was sitting right where a bunch of lines go to to the compressor. He could have tweaked something and caused a leak.

They screwed up your A/C during the snorkel installation.

This morning on the way to work the AC worked well so I don't know what the deal is anymore!

The thing was when I looked in where the guy was sitting there was nothing there! The only thing that was in place was the actual engine block!

Do you know where the sight glass is?

You can simply look at it with the A/C on to see whether you have sufficient refrigerant.

what should that look like? Should there be any air in the mixture or all refrigerant (i.e. should there be any bubbles)?

if you look in there right under where that guy's left cheek is, you should see the a/c compressor. the high side and low side lines run to it right across that guy's ass. of course, this assumes that you're running a gas engine. I know nothing of the layout of diesels, if that's what it is.

Should look clear in general. A few bubbles when the compressor cycles on/off. Continuous bubbles means it's low.

(Look in you FSM, it's actually more specific: Clear with a/c on high, pretty warm out, rpm's at ???)

I took the cruiser back and they checked it out! They added a little bit of refrigerant and the AC pipes in the engine compartment were extremely cold! The AC is cold but I think there might be something wrong with what's on the inside!
