2nd button on key fob

Has anyone assigned a function to the 2nd button on the LEXUS factory alarm key fob? Wouldn't it be cool to lower all the windows at the same time as you approach your ride after disarming the alarm? I am sure it is possible, but is it cheap and easy?

I don't think the alarm system in the 80 series is "smart enough" to do what you are asking for although I'm sure anything is possible with enough money

It has some good info.

On the controller, under the driver's seat.

The second button is intended to be available to operate a second Toyota/Lexus vehicle with a comperable alarm system. IE 2 cars, one remote in your pocket.

Man, you are smart. The folks at our local Lexus place had no idea...

LOL I first read this as: By maybe pressing the 2nd button it could download the service manuals.

Now that would be a hell of a trick

Currently I programmed mine to work the same as the top button for my TVSS alarm.
Both types of alarm manuals are also at Beowulf's site: http://hdcruisers.angeltowns.net/index.html

That would be sweet!
Sorry for the poor sentence construction.

Forgot to post up but after I read this back when I went home and tried it and sure enough, CDan as always is right!

I now have the second button on both of my '97 LX450 key fobs programmed to lock/unlock my '97 FZJ80 and vice versa. It has come in handy several times already...

On a side note...regardless of which of the 4 fobs I have that I use the fobs will work at a much further distance on the '97 FZJ80 than they will on the LX450. Not sure why but I know there have been posts before about the measely operating distance of the factory remotes...Well, that distance is even more measely on the LX than the 80 for me

Edit: for comparison purposes max distance from my LX450 that I can get the remotes to work without doing the chin trick is 10', usually less though. Max distance that I can get the remotes to work on the FZJ80 is 20-25' and it is more consistent.

I can't be more than about 5ft away from my 450 for the remote to work. I have 3 remotes and they all have about the same range. Before my CPO warranty expired, I had the Stealership but a new receiver module in. That increased the range from the 2ft it was to the now mind boggling 5ft.

Look at the RS3000 installation manual on my web site. I should show how the alarm manufacturer (Fujitsu-Ten) wanted the antenna to be run. Check yours and see if you can move it to improve the range.

Mine is inside the driver's side kick panel. I had to replace the unit. It was causing my alarm to randomly go off for no reason.
