Dead or dying TPS?

While cleaning out my throttle body yesterday, I'm afraid I may have killed my TPS. The engine will run run/accelerate great but every now and then will just lose all power. I let off the gas and then reapply the pedal and it runs fine again for a while. Is there a way to test the sensor or should I just pony up for a new TPS?

I would expect to get a CEL code if the TPS wasn't functioning properly. I think the FSM has a procedure for testeing them. You basically measure the resistance at various intervals. Of course, if it is intermitent, it may test OK.
