Free 80 Series Factory Tow Hitch, slight rust.

So, yeah.. U pick up.

Believe it or not, only one bolt popped when removing this thing. Unfortunately- it was an important one. Time to drill and tap!

In the third pic, the large circular scale that you can see on the drivers side fell off upon removal as well, exposing another 'aerodynamic' advantage.

That's nearly 14 years of salt exposure, not a good environment if you ask me. It is starting to really show it's age though. Looks great compared to any other 14 year old truck in these parts- since most of them are in the junkyard.

Yeah, makes you wonder about the tow rating! Most folks don't crawl around under their trucks checking stuff like this out. I wonder how many guys are towing big trailers on equipement like this.

How many miles do you have on your Destination MT's now? Have they worn well?

I'd bet it's right around 20k. They have worn surprisingly well. They have gotten slightly louder on the freeways over time, but are still quiet compared to most big luggers. I rotate them twice a year (spring/ fall) and use a 5 tire rotation.

I wish they came in a 35" size.

They do (like any big lugger will) kill your MPG though. There's a lot more wind resistance there than you would think there is. I get around 11-13 currently.

When I moved to Texas back in 1999 from the north I was enamored with the amount of 15+ year old vehicles still on the road with no rust holes through the body. Being from the North everything around 10 years old starts showing...

All you northerners should be buying your used rigs from down south. I've never seen anything remotely close to that down here.

No! Don't take our stash of carefully preserved by soccer moms, future wheeling rigs and execute them like that!

I appreciate the offer Dan, but take a look at the "Two Geeks and a bumper" thread and you'll see that not only do I no longer need an add-on hitch, but it would no longer be possible to fit it to my cruiser.

Someone else may need it one day though... they appeared to be solid units when originally built, even my 'perforated' hitch was plenty heavy.
