Question What am I missing? Front driver's side brake line question

Searched and searched with no results.

So, I was changing out my brakelines to extended SS last night. All went well with the rear axle; however, when I attempted the front driver's side hardline to flex hose I couldn't even get my brake line wrench to line up without hitting the frame or the oil pan.
What gives? It shouldn't be this hard. From the lack of posts on the subject, I'm thinking I'm missing something obvious.
Thanks!

To those of you who have changed your brake lines... how did you get that driver side brake line diconnected?

If I understand correctly, there shouldn't be any trouble getting a wrench on that fitting. You've got about 5" between the pan and the frame? I did this a couple months ago and had no problems. If I had my camera here I'd snap a pic to make sure we're talking about the same thing. I'm referring to my '97.
