1994 Dash Feeling Stiff/Dry

The dash in my 94 is starting to feel a little too stiff for my liking. It has not yet cracked but I have a feeling if left untreated it'll be cracked by summers end.

What all do you recommend for "moisturizing" my dash?

I do not want to use silicone or petroleum based products as they lead to further deterioration of the dash.

Thanks!

Is your "dash" code for somthing else? If so, then use good hand lotion or K-Y

If you're really talking about your dashboard, then use a dashboard cover. That might help. Else get ready to spend some cash when that thing cracks.

Griot's or 303

I have been using the Griot's stuff for the last 5 years (my own vehicles and customer's cars) and absolutely love it! Expensive, but you don't need to use too much and it lasts for quite a while.

I used to use the 303 stuff and it is still very good, just not as nice as the Griot's in my opinion.

There you go, for what it's worth.

Will these products restore, or just protect?

I have never found a product that can truely erase years of abuse, but I have seen some pretty neglected dash and door panels that looked very nice after the Griot's stuff. It leaves the dash with a satin finish and after a few applications, it does feel softer. Once the curling / craching begins, it is time for a dash cover or replacement dash.

Perfect, Griots sounds like the stuff we used when I was a detailer. I just have a hard time sourcing water based dressings.

Thanks for the links!

Any decent over-the-counter products that you all are aware of?

Honda motorcycle dealers have a pro cleaning and polishing product that is suppose to work very well. Also check some place like pep boys for vinylex lexol.

As wearsabrowncoat has suggested, the Lexol brand is very nice. I like the leather products (I use them with the Griot's Leather Care), but the Vinylex has a funky smell. I use it and the 303 for boats sometimes if I run out of the Griot's Vinyl & Rubber Conditioner.
