1st Post Ever!! Fuel door for 80 and more

Hi guys...

This is my first post so please bear with me. I bought a 1991 TLC last week. Great body, perfect interior. Few minor things though...

1) The fuel door broke at the hinge. Metal is much too flimsy to reconnect. Anybody have one they can sell me or know where I can find one? Also, does anyone know if fuel doors from other series land cruisers fit? or just 80 series?

2) My antennae mast is busted... motor works and still pulls up and down, mast is broken though. What is a good brand/retailer to go trough for this part?

3) Glove compartment has lock busted out and I can't get it open. Anyone know how I can get it open, or if it is repairable with a new lock? or do I just need a whole new glove compartment?

Thanks so much guys. Glad to be part of this great community. Please reply, if you know about 1 of the 3, all 3, or just want to give me random tips on owning an 80!

Cheers,
Jon

Welcome Jon.

1. Boneyard or Cruiserdan. Only 80-series will fit.
2. CruiserDan. Several threads here in the 80-Section on the fix. (Common problem)
3. You should be able to open it by removing the 2 screws on the hinges at the bottom of the glovebox. Don't know about repair.

Thanks Dan for replying to my first (I'm sure of many) posts. I contacted them and hope to find out soon

Huh. My fuel door hinge is misaligned on my '94 and I took it off to try to straighten it before it broke off from fatigue. Still haven't figured out how to take the hinge pin out to re-align the door. Never thought of this as a weak spot on the 80...

Welcome! If you have grey interior I have a glove box laying around somewhere if you come to the breaking point.

I used a generic power antenna for my 91. The only thing weird was to get it to go down I had to press both buttons. Going up I still just used the one button.

Can't help you with the fuel door. Sorry!
