Spot the connector

What does this connect to?
Located underneath the driverside by the passenger door

I have no idea really. I wonder if they could have been used for illuminated steps maybe? Is there on on the PS as well?

Maybe they could be adapted out for LED rock lights?

I kinda assumed it was for lighted steps as well.

The second plug, the one that's plugged in goes to the fuel pump. Disconnect that and the truck won't go anywhere. Also a good way to depressurize the fuel system (the FSM actually mentions it). Disconnect it and turn it over a few times.

So, if this was for a lighted steps dealer installed option that nobody seems to have...

How much juice can it handle? Which fuse does it run to? Does it turn off with the door? Headlights? What switches it?

Yeah, I know I know... multimeter, test bulb and trial and error would do it...

Does anyone already know?

I found the diagram that shows the fuel connector (forgot ot mention when I posted) But the FSM doesn't show that connector that is open which has me puzzled (although I may have missed it, the FSM seems a bit odd to not have a full index but only for each section).

If it's a door step light, I'd guess they would be on when the doors are opened.

I think this is connector BO1; EWD 189U, Pg 30 & 59. Got no idea what the other 3 leads connect to. The connect hanging in the breeze is a mistory.

Where's CDan when you need him?

If those are for step lights, I'd love to put another set of LED's down there.

I've got LED fever, and my old 94 is nearing the light capacity of a high school stadium.

Where did you guys come up with the idea they might be for step lights? I don't think any 80-series built for anywhere in the world, came with step lights. I don't have an answer for the purpose of that connector but it likely is an unused connector for something (part or option) that was available somewhere in the world.

My guess would be a sub-tank connector of some kind... pump, or sender or something.

Daniel?

In that case it can get power from somewhere and can be switched by something. Find out and it could become what we're talking about.

Of course, we could all just run a $10 switch and $2.00 worth of wire and get the same effect. It just isn't as much fun.

No pimp-lighted 80 steps.

If you want that, buy a Navigator.......

Could be a hook-up for the transfer pump.

David, (Oz-Cal) could you look at yours?

Yeah.. We have it covered in the door convenience lights.

The question still remains. WTF is that connector for?

I'm not sure what other versions/years have them, but my 06 LX 100 does indeed have pimp-lighted steps.

For some reason I thought that connector was on both sides, but I just checked and couldn't find it on the passengers side.

I think I'll check it out with a DMM some time to see if anything there is hot.

I did find that the mystery connector under the center console is hot when the lights are on... but that's kinda another thread.

I think the Aux Fuel is the best guess. Maybe our new member Prossett can tell us if he has it hooked up at all.

Hey... in ten years it will be very cool. It's just started the break-in period.

Just replied here and indeed it runs to the top of the subtank.
