Anyone seen coilovers-link suspension on 80's Toyo-mini

I've got an 87 4runner and have thought about some suspension mods I have love to ditch the IFS and go solid axle up front. My question is everyone seems to go leafspring though, I know it's a straight forward mod but they ride so damn hard and don't have the articulation of a 3 or 4 link with coils.

Whats the deal here? Post up some pics on coilover minis guys!!

Funny, i'm doing a 3 link front in my 90 4runner right now. I've already 3 linked my rear with Rubicon Express LCAs. Front will be the same hardware. Rear springs are currently FJ80 coils, but i'm going to swap in Aerostar coils.

Doesn't the UCA mount on the LCA rub the tires?

I've actually flipped the arms left to right now since i've remade the axle upper mounts when the re-used factory tin tore for the 4th time.

As it was there was no rubbing as the arms move in line with the tires.

I'm finishing my coil (FJ80s) SAS on this comming weekend, so i'll post up pics when that's done. It's getting a cut n turned mini axle with 4.88s and hysteer located by RE control arms and an RE track bar.

well, have all of these fabs been with company made pieces or has anyone done this from scratch? One about the front axle choices? 80's front toyo-mini or fj-40 axles? Which one is the preferred axle? what about steering?

here is a good one, How much do you all have in these swaps? time and money?
I'm not looking for extreme rock bashing but better off-road capablility and better than leafspring roadriding. I know the IFS is good for the road but it really does have it's limitations I especially dislike the torsion bar thing!!
