Hella Supertone's

So... I have these horns ready to go and I look under the hood of my 2000 4Runner to see what and where. The stock horns have one wire and I asume it is the pos. The Hellas need two so I asume I have to ground the horn to the frame or such with the neg. If that is correct why do I need a relay that comes with the horns? Or do I need it at all? Seems to me if I connect the pos to the pos on the horn and run a neg to ground I wouldn't need the relay. Am I close? I am an electronics idiot so please go easy on me.

Dunno if you got this figured out yet or not. The reason for any relay is so that the switched wire doesn't have to handle the current that the appliance requires. The stock horn wire may or may not be capable of handling the current required by the horn. Therefore you use the stock horn wire to activate or trigger the relay which then sends power(through a heavier gauge wire) directly from the battery to the new horn.

HTH.
