3.0 V6 with Downey Headers/Need help

I've had my Downey Headers on for over a year and continuously had problems with the EGR valve flex hose loosening up, over the numerous tightening sequences the flex hose broke. Does anyone know where I can find this flex hose or suggest a fix? This hose go's from the forward fitting on the header to the EGR Valve. I need to get this Runner smogged and this is holding me up.

Toyota factory part or a decent quality piece of copper pipe will do just fine.
Although not Downey, actually Thorley, but the use is the same..Pipe bender and flare (double flared) tool later, voila.

Left side is the copper pipe, right is the factory piece.

I gave the reply above as to where to get either solution.

Brass pipe=hardware store.

Flex tube=Dealership.

Brass Pipe (Double Flared) works and is cheaper.

Flex tube=more expensive.

Look at the pic of my engine bay. If you go with the brass tube and flare it just right, it makes a crush sleeve action and prevents the loosening issue. You recycle the end nuts with the piece of pipe.

BTW..nice 40! re: http://www.tlca.org/web/community/userprofile/2498 (*Must login to TLCA first to view the page)
