Hard starting 93 4runner

I'm asking this for a female friend in our group who recently bought a nice 93' 4runner. I usually hang out in the 40/60 forums so 4runner tech is new to me, but I'm learning. Anywho,,,the rig takes a long time to start when the engine is hot; when it's cold it usually only takes a few cranks. Any usual suspects to check???

there is a lot to check. i would start with the coil and igniter. you need to get a manual and look in the trouble shooting section. a haines is alright but Toyota's has a lot more info.

Check the intake hose for cracks & leaks.

(waiting for Wristy to hop in here and say "check your grounds!")

Good thing you're not then.

Manual, YES, ABSOLUTELY.

Doesn't help for the stuff that's not IN the manual though.

It does help that there's a 93 manual linked in the FAQ thread, and it's viewable online!!!
