95 4Runner

My father is looking at 95 4Runner SR5 fully loaded 3.0L V6 Auto Red with 89,000 miles. He said its only had one owner and he kept all the service receipts. It has no rust and body is pretty much perfect. They PO even kept the window sticker when he bought and it went for around $30,00 back then. The PO traded it in and the dealership is asking $6900 for it. What are some of pros and cons that you guys have found? He thought it was quite weird that the sticker only said 14 city and 16 highway mpg. I suppose from being geared so low. Any info would very much appreciated..Thanks

I have an 1995 4cyl. 5speed 4x4 SR5 With a decent stereo system (bass and amp junk) Clean title (in hand) , and nearly perfect body paint and interior. There was about 180k miles though. . But its a Toyota. Those numbers just show you how awesome your truck is.
He was asking 4k and I talked him to 3k.

Best 3k I have ever spent.

I see yours is a V6

But I would not pay more than 4k for it. the car is about 14 years old.

EDIT:
heres a KBB for you.

He bought for $5900. The previous owner was really anal about stuff and kept immaculate care of it..so i still don't think that was a bad price..thanks though

i had a bad experience with a 90 4runner. i hoped he checked that trans fluid good. i did and it smelled and looked new(it was) it was black and burned by the time i got home then about a month later something went in the trans and cracked the trans housing.

Nice ride Tristan. I always liked that body style. I had two of the 1st generation 4Runners one '88 with the 22RE 4 cyl.manual & the other '89 with the 3.slow Auto. Great rides. The '89 had the same power/drive train as yours... definetly service that transmission though. I neglected it and it went out on me.

PM me and I'll let you know where some parts for that are in town, one with only 91k miles on it.

BTW - I have a nearly new power antenna motor for a '95 4Runner for sale if you need one. I was going to use it for my Landcruiser but it wouldn't fit. D'oh

I also really still like that body style, almost as much as the 1st gens.

Hard to tell for sure from that pic, but it looks to me like you need to replace the rear coil springs. Serious butt sag goin' on there...
