I got this '81 Traiblazer for $100, and traded the bald 35s for a set of 4.30 '85 4Runner axles which helped ot out alot compared to eht 3.90s. We actually buit it up pretty well with welded diffs and hand me downs for about $500 total.
This is the '80 long box I just got for $250:
Here is my buddy's '85 4Runner he got for FREE!!

my first truck: 1980 SR5 2WD: $150 without an engine.
not a truck but.....
got his 15 miles down at the end of a dirt road in SW Colorado for $400... wheeled it all over down there: Durango, Silverton, Telluride, Lake City.
drove 2 of the tires off of it during the test drive...that helped with the "negotiations" ....pretty funny, though, I didn't even notice it until I got back to their place that it was in 4 High and that one tire was about to fall of the rim and the other was so low on air the rim was on the ground!
put over $400 in gas through it in the first month I owned it. wanted one for 20 years. sold it this spring to trade down to an FJ60.

Welp....
It's maybe not the best deal in this thread....
But I just picked up an.........
85 4Runner, EFI, SR5 etc.....
For nothing...
So don't get all jealous on me!!!!
Did I mention it was stolen......... and missing for 6 months in a BAD!!! neck of the woods? Then after it was recovered, it sat for 3-4 years under an oak tree about an hour from the nearest paved road. Or that that paved road is still an hour from the nearest gas station, or.... I told you about the 6000 ft mountain that was in the way right? Yeah, I told you that.... right???
Here it is in all it's glory!!!
"Ran when parked" <- May be it's new name, we'll see how hard it is to get fired up. More pics later, I only had my cell phone with me....
No top, no roll bar, 3 seats missing, no stereo, cracked windshield, sun roof glass is gone, rear window glass is gone, along with all the tailgate guts.... one flat tire.... It was red originally... but the thieves saw fit to paint it a sweet forest green color...
