5 speed into 75 pickup and other madness

So I picked up a 1978 wrecked pickup with a 5 speed in it. I have a 75 it is all going in.

Issue number one. The 5 speed is longer... duh. Neither the 78 or the 75 tranny cross members will come even close to lining up, well actually the 75 one is kind close. It needs notching and other craziness done to it.

Issue number two. Completely different wiring harness for the engine and the emissions ( air pump and such ) is also very different. This is a big headache right now.

What can you do to help you ask!? Well if you live in Sultan and have a plasma cutter and a welder or even just a good angle grinder with a cutoff wheel then I would love to talk to you

Also if you have any advice as far as running vacuum lines and/or removing the air pump and all unneeded peripherals I would also love to pick your brain...... mmmmm brains...

Thank you in advance

those two trucks are totally different in ALL aspects. seems like you are realizing that if you want it to all worK you just gotta get in there and do it! those engines are way different, so the trans probaly wont hook up.

For example my build is just like that. 89 engine to a 80 truck. Built the crossmember, rewired it entirely, new driveshafts on the way....

Yeah when I jumped in I figured there where the same chassis so a lot of stuff was going to swap over easily..... not turning out that way.

Well if anyone out there has at least the egr/vacuum info and how to minimize it all I would appreciate it.
