Welcome to Mud Where is that at? That was a very beautiful scenery and looks like you had a good time wheelin. I wish we have a place like that to wheel here in the East Coast.

Well hey there sexy! (not you, the rig!) Welcome, and tell me how your lift is going? Any rubbing or issues? I'm gonna do mine soon but the jury is still out on how.

........oh, and BTW...flex (for a high clearance I.S) is overrated

thnaks guys, the wheeling location was the quesnel canyon every year in the spring we have the quesnel canyon crawl when its pretty muddy and slick back there. basically a big long weekend of campign wheeling and some games. gps races etc. all in all it was a good time.

some decent pics on the local forum
North Caribou Offroad Adventurers Society :: View topic - quesnel canyon this year? may long?

as far as my lift goes its pretty decent, it will rub at full lock backing up and sometimes at full stuff all depending on how much you air down etc. i trimmed some inner fender plastic liner but just to keep the places for mud to stay down. what year is your hilux? surf corrrect?

Nice Runner you got there, and welcome to Mud

Flex is great if you're doing alot of crawling but from the looks of it you should be more worried about keeping traction in that slippery stuff there. Any future mods you're looking at or are you pretty happy with how it sits right now?

i like how it sits really. maybe a 1" body lift just for some minor tyre clearance issues but mainly would like some lower gears 5.71's and a rear locker. trail armor would be good too.

IMO, that's (5:71s for an AT) not a bad idea if you have an Auto. Traditionally they are kinder or softer (if you will) on the DT b/c of the steady torque flow.

And another thing is, ATs usually don't have the low gears in the tranny that a standard does. So engineers (I guess this is why) usually put lower final drive gears in them. I say that b/c it's often overlooked that ATs should drop down to the next ratio than their MT counterparts.

You're definitely gonna have more snap in the acceleration, more pulling or low end torque and (providing you have an AT I'm just guessing) you're gonna love it. This IMO is the best thing, and the 1st thing I would do to wake up the V6.

you guessed correct sir. i would have loved a 5 speed for economy and wheeling sake but the significant other has to drive it occasionally so auto it is. kinda thinking about swapping to the 5 speed and just man ing up and teaching her to wheel stick.
