What's the part????

This apparently comes off my dad's 93 4-runner. He said it's mounted onto the EGR Valve someplace. I'm thinking it's some sort of temperture sensor? EGR Temperature Sensor???

We had a code of 71 pop up a while ago and he replaced the EGR Valve and Modulator but supposedly, this is the culprit of the code.

Here's that thread.

Anyway, here's the picture...

Sorry, wish I could help ya. Never seen that before. Surprised noone has chimed in yet. So it actually mounts on the EGR? What engine does it have in it Is there a part # on the bunk one? By the sounds of it from your other thread, it looks like a basic pyrometer or at least a basic thermistor? Yes or no signal based on temp of exhaust?

I forgot the proper name but it should thread in right by the EGR's diaphram (saucer shaped part). If that sensor is off the exhaust leak is big, shouldn't be too tough to find.

I think that's a temp probe for the EGR, pretty sure only CA spec trucks have it.

This would make sense because it is a California Truck. I'm gonna call tomorrow to try and order it.

Thanks everyone
