Wink Rig of the Fortnight: Jonathan Ferguson's 1985 Toyota Hilux LN65

This is the Link to my Buildup Thread that I keep up to date.

I used to own a 1980 Toyota Landcruiser BJ40, but it was a mongrel to drive on rural Highways, so I got rid of it after 2 3/4 years of ownership.

Back on a Saturday in May of 2004, my Brother was looking through the Classifieds section of the Newspaper and he saw a Hilux advertised, but it didn't state if it was Four Wheel Drive or not. My Father telephoned the fellow and it was indeed Four Wheel Drive, so we organised to nip 'round and have a look.
So my Father and I rocked up, it initially looked like it had been resprayed, but I later realised that it was just Coloured Polish. My Father took the Car for a drive with me Riding Shotgun and the Owner in the back, the only problem with the Car was that the Clutch slipped a lot. Anyway, we offered him $7,000 with a Road Worthy Certificate, instead of his asking price of $7,500 - He accepted.

Like how I got it.

Switched the Wheels between my Landcruiser and Hilux.

First time I Hydrauliced the Engine. 5th November, 2005

The cost of the Customs & Quarantine Broker was more than I paid for the Tyres. - No Tax due to the Free Trade Agreement with America.

Video of my Car about one minute before I Hydrauliced the Engine for a second time, necessitating a rebuild. - At least I was able to drive it home. 9th April, 2006

Future plans, maybe I'll get a Winch, though I'm pretty sure I'd get one of these. $750.00
Then the only other thing on my to do list is to improve the Car's Lighting.

Photographs of yesterday's activities. 10th August, 2007
The Car now has 313,527km on it and the Engine has done 6,241km
Biodiesel
Photographs at the Park: 1, 2, 3 & 4.
How the Tray is packed all of the time.
How the back of the Car always is.
Engine Bay
5,500 RPM and the Exhaust Gas Temperature stabilised at 683 degrees Celcius.

[rant]I find it just plain annoying that I can't buy parts locally and have to resort to importing or going without.[/rant]
Anyway, that's as modded as it'll get due to legalities and expense.

I haven't documented the cost of getting the Engine back to its original condition, but it's in the region of AU$10,000 = US$7,925.19 and it's not yet there.

In the past couple of weeks I've wired and fitted the KC HiLiTES, now the only item on my to do list, is to get the Engine into a usable state by adding material to the Camshaft and having it re-reground as well as increasing the amount of fuel delivered by the Injector Pump.
