I might go there, but I hope I don`t have to... And now I have put so much money into my linked suspension, over 3400usd... So I would like to get it to work..

Back when I lived in Minneapolis I'd head 25 to 75 miles north of the northern suburbs of the Twins Cities on likely Aurora nights. I'd use my 4x4 pickup to get down the snowy back roads to dark sky spots. I had a couple of outings where it was possible to read my watch and PDA via Aurora light. For those who don't know the magnetic poles are where Aurora are centered around so they are lower in latitude to that side of the rotational poles. This means northern Minnesota and Wisconsin are quite good for seeing them. I used data from SOHO and POES to figure out if a given night was a likely candidate to go out and observe. I got so I'd see good displays 80+% of times I went out. Now there are Aurora prediction forecasts. Some of them will even email or phone you. If you want to take a trip to see Aurora, do it during the spring and fall equinoxes as the greatest number of displays occur around then. Otherwise go during the winter as you have the most observation hours. As always, the further north you go the better the chances of seeing them if the display is weak.

ha ha, you did n`t insult anyone or make sense for that matter!!! But nice try though, admire your effort!!!

Thats me alright Got to match the truck you know...

The front fender is i believe hannemann fiberglass, the truck was built by one of the allpro guys. Don`t remember his name at the moment, there are lots of pics on their site. Been in several magazines and is amazing. It has been imported over here, but the builder wants to get it back to the states now...

As the thread name is in English you'll know that its knixen AND FRIENDS so I haven`t taken all the pictures. Just the ones I`ve posted. So they are from all over our country, those from viking067 are from the spitsbergen islands way up near the north pole... Glad you liked them...

Yeah, I put the Norwegian it gave me back in to translate back to English and it came out gibberish, so I tried to change it a little.... I'll stick to English I guess.... (although I don't claim to have a very good grasp on that language either...)

Yeah I made those uppers. I am really happy with the ride of the rear right now I measured 13" of travel and I've been driving it to work regulary at 70mph with no vibs or squirlyness. I put a CV joint on the rear driveshaft and filled it half full of metal BBs for balancing.

You filled the driveshaft with BB's? Never heard/thought of that.... Only tires...

Haven`t forgot about you guys! Just haven`t done much, the spring is slowly arriving here now. The snow has almost left us, and I will soon begin to work on my truck.

I have changed the rear shocks to ones with 14" travel, but the rear springs are a bit to stiff so I have ordered the all-pro leaf kit. This will arrive next week, so I will need to do some more work now...

So, now I only have these things to do;
Convert to leafs rear
Mount dual cases, with all-pro xxx-cross member
Modify drive shafts
Mount the all-pro rear disc kit
Mount the all-pro cage

I think thats it, at least the biggest things...

It looks cool when people bob 4runners but IMO I would not want to lose the valuable cargo space. I bought a 4runner to be an all around expedition type vehicle and though I do drag my rear end from time to time its not enough of a problem for me to warrant bobbing it. it would look sweet on your rig though. if you dont have the need for the extra space I say go for it

Thanx

I am going to remove at least half of the rear seats so I get extra cargo space there... I never carry more than one passenger anyway... But for expeditions I carry tons of shit... But I have a cargo net for security reasons...

I will not decide to bob or not to bob until the fall... I`m just doing technical things until then... and using/abusing it...

I think the fenders on that one is from hannemann fiberglass.

Been flex testing, not so bad??? Got a little more out-travel both front and rear, but there is no more up-travel.

Maybe theres no rush to install the leafs?
