Real Time Help: Idler Arm

I'm trying to help my friend change out the bushings on his Idler Arm. 1991 4WD Toyota Pickup.

Got the arm off the truck. The Large Nut off, but the stud will not "gently tap" (as the manual says) from the bracket.

Is there more to disconnect? Or...just old and rusted in place?

Help appreciated.

That's all there is to it..... It's probably just old and rusty! Thread the nut back on part way and try a hammer.

That is what we are thinking. Another friend just suggested buying a whole new Idler arm...they are cheap.

Oh well. It's easy to put it all back together for now.

Is the (ball?) joint on the end of the I are pressed in? / replaceable?

a friend has one but boogered it getting it out and tried to cut it down to restart the threads.

Be a shame to have to junk it.
