torque setting
working on my 85 toyota pick-up, I can't find the torque settings for the valve cover gasket bolts, thanks in advance for any help!! also is the fuel filter along the frame rail on this truck?

15 to 20 pounds is fine.it dont take much to keep them from leaking
filter im not sure of.my guess would be the framerail.or on the passenger side lower firewall area

thanks for the info guys, the valve cover gasket bolts were so lose I could turn them with my hand, I put them all to 20lbs! thanks again! -Ken

Whoa! no don't go to 20ft lbs!!! They should be set to 43-48 INCH lbs!! that's about 4-5ft lbs.
Set it to proper torque. Don't be a novice fool and think if 10ft lbs, then 20ft lbs must be better. It's like if the bottle calls for 2 aspirin, you'll take 4 cuase more must be better
