Spindle bushings
Where is the best place to get the brass bushings in the spindle of a 93 v6 IFS truck? I am working on one for the company that I work for, and it seems like they are getting screwed over on the price of these. Any ideas?

At any reputable toyota dealership the price should be 40$ for the inner and 20$ for the outer each. so to do both sides of the truck its going to cost 120$

Damn I thought these would be a lot cheaper than that. Maybe we weren't getting bent over too bad.

IMO, some toyota parts prices depend on their fequency of replacement. Which may be the case here.
I know people have discussed wearing these out and I can clearly see them wearing out, however they really should not. Case and point: My '94 4runner had 180k miles on it before I put manual hubs on and the bushings looked absolutely fine when I rebuilt the axles and hubs. My '86 truck with 340k miles still look brand new, of course with manual hubs. On my 80's axles they where fine and even when I repacked the birfields on my sister's 80 with 200k miles they did not need to be replaced. None had play in the axle on the bushings and none had the typical "ratteling" sound of a bad bushing. Also only my tuck has been 'wheeled since it's first day off the dealer lot and I mean 'wheeled hard. For the price, and my experience I would not call the bushings a part that is needed for a typical overhaul of the front. |

No longer pre-approved...

May be a case of water in the hubs that was not taken care of for XXXXX miles...... I'll second that they are not a typical problem.

These were def screwed. There was at least 1/4" of play in the shaft on each side. They were bad enough to destroy the c-clips that held them in place and destroyed the hubs. The good news for me was that I had hubs that would work for him so I traded him for an 85 front axle. That worked out nice.
