1979 4wd short bed rust repair panels

Hey everyone,

Now that I have a welder I want to tackle some rust repair projects. Does anyone know of any companies that make direct fit repair panels for my truck? Any ideas?

I don't know of anyone, to be honest. The bed design doesn't really play well with the idea of panels, but they may exist. You could check Certi-fit.

yeah ... seriously ... There is NO point in wasting your time fixing the old bed .. http://www.toyotafiberglass.com is the way to go .
YOU can not get rid of the rust .. it will always return .


but if you must repair ... you'll have to hammer out your own panels , cuz I dont think the dealer can supply anymore .

I don't much care about the bed, it's the rockers and cab corners that I would like to repair. Any Ideas?

My box will be ready for me to pick up on Monday, if you want one you will have to wait.
I ordered mine on the 11 of July, Corey said it would be done in March so i'm getting mine ahead of schedule.

The fiberglass panels would be the way to go. Replacement steel panels were available at one time, as the previous owner of my 83 got 'em about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, they were just as prone to rust as the originals.
