IFS and moab

I am highly considering going to cruise moab this year but I am hesitant because I still have IFS in my 86 4runner. It does have lockers front and rear with 4.88s but I am afraid that it won't flex very well or I will break something to do with the ifs. Should I be worried or just grow a pair and stop whining? Anyone else planning on going for cruiser moab?

As long as you run trails that are within your and the truck's capability level you will be fine, go for it, CM is a blast.

I’m afraid you just need to sack up bro, she will do fine. I have been beating the snot out of my ifs for 5 years now and she is still going strong (haven’t got all the funds together for the sas yet so I have had to make do) as long as you have a good spotter for the technical stuff you’ll do fine

Well, "He who shall not be named" does Moab quite often in his 100 and seems to have no problems, so you should be fine...

We took a bone stock 85 4Runner,
An IFS 4Runner on 33's
And a IFS Taco on 33's up Cliffhanger, with both IFS vehicles taking not so easy lines..

No problems.

You will do just fine.
Just a good time with some great folks.

I am really looking forward to this trip. I am just trying to find the right tires. One thing that is bothering me is that I saw an 87 4runner today with sas and 37s. Mine looked so small on 33s next to it.

I've wheeled the snot out of 2 sets of Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's.
I'll gladly buy them again.

did they wear good on road? This is my dd and my wheeler. I have heard really good things about them off-road but not anything for on-road.

I drive my 76 Land Cruiser to and from the trail head.
It's was also my DD for 4 years up until this last November.
I get GREAT tire wear out of them on the road.
You have to be good about doing tire rotations. But I do them every oil change.

The only reason I replaced the first set was because I got a tie rod that was too long, and I wound up scrubbing off the inner tire tread on the front. Had the tie rod been the correct length, those tires would have lasted me another 2 years.

For a DD driven rig, that gets driven the the trailhead, I think the Goodyear Wranger MT/R's are VERY hard to beat.

Moab was awesome fun in my 95 4Runner. Set up much like your truck.

It helps to have a good guide.
