Ever had an EGR valve go bad?

I just changed the EGR on my 94 4runner. It got me to thinkin that I've never had one go bad before.
Have you personally ever had one go bad on one of your rides?

by bad you mean not open and close?

possibly the case.

but often one may fail, when a leak in the seal develops.

to verify, you can equipp a smoke tester to see the leaks

Yes I have seen EGR valves fail in the open position creating a very large vacuum leak and subsequently a very poor running condition, if the engine would run at all.
