I am working on getting my order together for a lift on my truck. Before I do I just would like to know what I am missing or if you guys have any other suggestions/recommendations.

Just a little info on the truck: 1986 22re auto 4R w/ saggy rear end

I will not be doing any major rock crawling but would like to have the truck capable of doing regular to mild wheeling. The following is what I was planning on ordering:

Pro Comp ES3000 Shocks (for 4in lift)
Skyjacker Rear Leaf Set (4 in lift)
Ball Joint Spacer from RB

or

Pro Comp ES3000 Shocks (for 4in lift)
Skyjacker Rear Leaf Set (4 in lift)
Pro Comp 4 In Lift Kit and not use the lift blocks in the rear

I would like to place an order this week. Any help would be much appreciated!

dont use ball joint spacers.
they mess up your alignment and make a very weak spot.
you need to get the extended front spindle and the brackets for the lower control arms and front diff.
the rear springs are a good idea cus the springs are shot. and adding blocks would only mask a problem.

the es3000 shocks are decent, but only last for 16,000 miles.

Are you familiar w/ Downey's 2" or 3" leaf spring packs and torsion bar? I am considering lifting the back 2" and using bilstein shocks in the rear and front. Any thoughts on any other brands thats availalbe for the 1st gen?

Downey makes good parts. i sell those parts when i lift someones truck.
the torsion bars are nice, cuz you can really crank em up and add 2-3" of lift right there. on top of your already 4 inch lifed, lower-contraol arm lift.
the shocks wont give you any lift. dont ezxpesct them to. Bilstien has been around for many years, they make good parts. they invented the variable valving technology.

i like the trail master SSV. (Speed Smart Valving.) it is soft on the road, and it firms up on the trail. really versitle.
your 86 is a second gen, not a first gen.
Old man emu also makes lifts, i hear good things, but havenot used or installed them.

when i say adding blocks to your dead springs, i mean thats a bad idea. but if you add blocks with new springs, stock of lifted, thats fine.
