7.3 or not

I'm on the other end of the spectrum of the majority here, but here goes. I've been running Scout D44's for almost ten years in my '71. the only breakage I have ever had was 1 rear axle housing, (too much air time, too many times). I also broke one outer stub shaft, but had a replacement for free, they are the same as the large shaft chevy's from the early '70's. the beuty of using the D44's is parts are easier to find and less expensive, they also reduce the weight of your rig by almost 200#'s. I suspect weight isn't a concern for you :P
