yep, when the lid is on properly it takes a while to get any real amount of water in but when the top is not secured properly then it only takes seconds...

$20 on the turbo. Two reasons:
A) Oil smoke is black, Fuel smoke is black White smoke is a headgasket Blue smoke is almost always a turbo. I've blown enough turbo's playing with my sports cars to know the difference. B) When you submerged it you say the turbo wasn't spinning... this is incorrect, the turbo is spinning the moment you turn the car on. It may not be spinning fast enough to put out any boost but it will be doing near on 20k rpm at idle. Especially with a 4 litre diesel feeding it. C) The turbo went from 20krpm to nothing in a fraction of an eye. What happens when you hit a river crossing at 40 and the water goes through yoru radiator into your fan? Imagine this happening inside the casing of your turbo. I imagine you have power loss from your engine. The turbo itself will be very hardy being a factory item but it is nonetheless rooted. Cheers ![]() PS. Feel free to rip me if it turns out to not be the turbo! |
