Headlight help please on 93 HZJ75

Need some headlight help here please.

Got a 93 HZJ75 here at my place for a few things to be gone thru / fixed. Got everything except for the drivers side lowbeam working. The highbeam works just fine. I have no wiring diagram for this truck but have tried to chase wires with no luck. I chased them from the plug at the light back to the firewall and nothing wrong that i could see. I do know it is not the light itself as i have tried numerous lights i had around here, and they all worked on the passenger side.

It has no fuse box cover but i was able to find the 2 fuses for the headlights and both tested fine both in and out of the truck. I can hear the relay coming on under the dash.

I did take the light switch out completely and found a wire just hanging on so i resoldiered it back on hoping that was it but alas, it was not the fix i was looking for.

One last question here.

Where is the body ground normally located at on this thing ? Found / got the one from the battery to the engine, and the starter to the frame, but never found one to the tub itself, so i put one from the battery to the tub, and the wipers run much better now.

Thanks for any / all help.

ummm, did you test the wire on the light side of the plug to make sure the power is getting completely TO the light itself?

i have seen the small clip inside the plug pushed back far enough that it wasn't making contact but everythign looked normal.

just a suggestion as i suck at electrical

This is my third truck in a row with a wiring issue, wish they would stop for a bit.

Was thinking of trying a new headlight connector. Now wiring under the dash is a mess, but only with PO's wiring stuff, not with the factory wiring.

Wayne, the guy that owns this one wanted me to make a overhead console like the one you did awhile back, but right now i have no way to Tig so he is waiting for a bit.

Let me tell him when he gets back down this way.

Can you send me a pm of what the price would come out to be ?

Old saying you get what you pay for comes to mind here.

.
The HJ75 had an identical wiring diagram to a HJ60 and apart from things related to the engine it was not changed much on the HZJ75 that Im aware of..
So a 60 series 84-90 body chassis manual should get you going most of the time

Thanks much, got the one from on here in the online place posted in this forum. Still a bit confused by it but am going try to the easy thing first this morning and replace the one piece where the light actually plugs into.

Working your way back from the drivers side Headlight where does the wire go to next ? And so on back to the fuse box ?

I traced it back to the firewall itself in the harness looking for a bad spot but everything was good.

Really want to test for continuity along the entire way till i find the bad spot.

Ok, got it done.

Was the connector right there at the light. Went and got one from the local parts store at wired it in and the lights work

Thanks all.
