13bt boost and black smoke

hi have recently put my engine (13bt) back in truck and it is blowing lots of black smoke when changing gears and reving it. Im thought it used to run higher boost before i removed it. Now it only running 8psi I have checked fuel filter in fuel feed pump , i have checked intake for any obstructions and both are fine . the truck used to go alot better than it does now. Would stuffed injectors mean more fuel not getting combusted resulting in turbo no being able to create more psi ? It just weird becasue last time i used it b4 removing engine it was goin way better

just removed wastegate hose and was free boosting to about 13psi in fourth gear, and it was still pouring out black smoke, and didnt feel like it was going any
better so maybe boost has always been 8. would blocked injectors give you a considerable loss in power and black smoke

Black smoke is excess fuel. Since you describe a lack of performance, maybe you have an intake air restriction/blockage? Clogged intercooler? Need a new air filter?

Find a good diesel shop and have them rebuilt rather then new, get them to check the pump as well

I'm going to ask the obvious have you checked that you dropped the FUEL level after dropping the BOOST?

Have you checked there is actually BOOST now?

The other guys have asked the questions I would. Is the timing correct?
