Intercooling my 75

Run an axt turbo with the larger 3" waste gate assembly, I want a fit a intercooler but really don't know where to start, top mount, front mount, etc!

It's obviously got the a 1hz in it! I'd love a DIY kit if possible, I've fitted a bonnet scope all ready to my bonnet but it was fitted many years ago simply to dump cold air on my turbo, so don't want to be going and putting more holes / scopes on my bonnet!

Any help is a greatly appreciated! I'm pumping 16 psi in her at the moment under boost! Fitted a PWR radiator but want to cool the charge air!

Please help

Look around post 832, a custom made intercooler that bolts right up fabricated by crushers. Something you might be able to have fabricated locally if you had a donor intake tube.

Troopie build

Since you have scoop on top of your bonnet, Why not do a top mount intercooler? Save up all your tedious works on the air-con bits in the front mount.

top mount.

I am wanting to go the w2a route.
You could go budget with frozenboost.com intercoolers (both air and w2a)
I want to go the northside 4x4 route.

I've done alot of research on this I've been Ts wta is the only way it will work efficiently as the shape of a 75 as we all know is like a brick, they have terrible air flow through radiator and simply fitting big lights may effect your cooling system ! I've ordered the axt kit to suit my axt turbo , plan is at this stage to fit the radiator under the tray...... ??? Any thoughts on this

Was actually thinking behind the passenger seat but this might be a stupid move !

I paid $1950 inc air freight, tomorrow is australia day here in oz so I will see it on Friday ! I've got a big weekend coming up as sooty is booked in to have the pump removed and maned up on Monday! Will be fitting a high flow head, aneroid and resetting the injectors .... Fingers crossed for 160 HP

I will post my dyno results next week!

Anyone think 160hp is possible from a dirty old 1hz ????

Radiator on the tray migth be your best move.

For intercooler:

Either top mount or front mount.

I tried top mount before and found it to be a heat brick.

So when installed the 1kz I went for front mount.

Front mount/top mount very debatable

My new hilux has a top mount.

You planning on upping your boost higher than 16 after this?

Not sure I will get anymore out of the turbo without a rebuild and larger wheel! It's been running 16pound for some time and I don't believe I will get anymore from it!

The pump and injectors will be removed on Monday and sent away for a rebuild, I'm going to fit a Hight flow head on it and an aneroid ( boost compensator)

Cheers

Im sure he is just referring to a ported head.

As far as i know there are no aftermarket heads in existence.

Yes ,I'm pretty sure its been done before ...

The stock 1hz pump will make 160hp .

I'm looking at building 200hp .... I will be updating my thread on my build soon .
