Racor 690 fuel filter in BJ70

And they said it couldn't be done...

Finding a spot deep enough (11" + room to remove water catch-cup) was the hard part. I'm using a primer bulb before the filter to prime the system. I haven't hooked up the 24v heater yet, nor am I in any rush to in this climate.

Looks good moose. My only concern is what if you want to re-locate you other battery to that spot to accomodate the future turbo?

Just thinking out loud,
Craig.

That's the factory air intake on top of the radiator on the right side of that pic, and using that as a comaprison point for size and distance, it would appear that both his batteries are already on the passenger (RHD) side of the engine bay? Either that or the passenger side battery is already in the forward position and the other battery would have to go behind it anyway.

looks good! what micron filter did you go with?

I ended up getting a Racor 445 with the 10mic filter. Got if for just under $70 on ebay! It has the built in primer pump but no heater, however, I contacted racor and they said it could be added later. Might look into that for next winter....

Both of my batteries are on the passenger side, and the old fuel filter was on the driver's side, where the turbo would go (when I win the lotto)

It's a 30 micron filter, the choices are 2, 10 or 30.

Anyone know what the stock fuel filter's micron rating is?
