Original muffler dimensions

Does anyone know what the original muffler dimensions are for a BJ70 or similar? Pictures would be awesome too if someone happens to have a lot of time on their hands!

Background info...

I had the exhaust re-done on my BJ70, and I guess I wasn't specific enough and they put on a smallish (14x9 inche oval) "turbo" muffler. It sounds fine as long as the engine isn't under any load. Under load it sounds horrible.

They mentioned they could maybe go 4 inches longer and try a "Quiet Flow" muffler, which is a "Walker 3 tubed design, premium muffler that is designed for O.E. equivalent sound and precision fit".

I think O.E. sound is what I'm looking for... but I don't want something smaller than O.E. as it'll end up being louder and less restrictive (?).

James

I think the factory muffler is somewhat of a joke, as long as you have it routed out the back, a magnaflow would sound good I believe... and you can get them for lots of different sized pipe

I've never seen the factory one, just the line drawing on toyodiy.com. I guess I'm just looking for an idea of what size muffler I need.

Also, if the size of the stock muffler is similar to what I have, then I know that the muffler they put on is just loud.

Ya, I think you're right. They ended up putting on an 18" long Walker muffler. I think it was from their Tru-Fit line which is probably super cheap. Anyway, that solved the problem. The horrible tone is gone under load, and they didn't charge me to swap the mufflers.

yeah I think I'll try something cheap when this one goes... some guys run without one completely, but without carpet in mine there's no way I would...?
