Ghana HZJ78

First posting here! Working out in Ghana and pretty passionate about my HZJ78! Basically gets a mod a month for weekend camping and occasional longer trips in West Africa. looking forward to ih8mudding! The modifications are:
  • Toyota Turbo and boost compensator
  • Glind heat exchanger shower system
  • 108L stainless underbody water tank (in progress)
  • 180L Longranger diesel tank (270L total tank capacity)
  • Firestone Airbags
  • Hannibal roof tent on bars, 2nd set of bars for other stuff
  • IEF Engineering twin wheel bumper replacement
  • Tourfactory Side exit stainless exhaust
  • 105 series steel wheels with 265 BFG MTs at the moment
  • 40L National Luna S/S fridge
  • 100a/hr CAT Battery with Sterling Power Battery to Battery Digital Charger
  • Lightforce 170s

I just bought a set of 100 series rims - 5 bolt - for my HZJ79, I will have them on monday so I can try them - I think I might need spacers but I will know soon.

Here is my cruiser ute (pickup) :



It is 2008 model with 3,500km on the clock. Working on the mods, but so far is limited to the front bar and 315/75 (approx 35 x 12.5) on 16 x 10 inch rims.

Still messing aorund with the front bar, will make another permanent one and keep the one here for daily driving while the other one is being fabbed.

Also, most likely will end up with 2 x 240 and 2 x 170 lightforce lights, rather than the 4 x 170 as shown.

Nice, that new front clip is definately growing on me especially with that crappy stock front bumper removed.

don't know, with out the factory fromt bumper it is starting to look a lot like a 60 series...

My fj73 73 series 85 model soa shackle reversal with (75 series ute rear springs not fitted in photo) hydro assist steering 36" tsl's f & r lockers 85% transfer reduction gears disc brake 75 series rear diff,diff guards strengthened cv's ,2 " wheel spacers 15 x 10" ,rims cut down into a ute with down ward opening tail gate. On there way are some 4.88 diff gears 15 x 10" alloy mags and 39.5 x 13.5 bias irok's.

¿what kind of reduction gear you have in your TC ? I need some information because i'm studing do the same.....

Sorry it was a miss print mine are 55% reduction low range option no.4 there one of the best mod's i have done unreal control. Landcruiser Gears
