excessive fuel consumption

hello every body, i'm francisco from paraguay, i own a lj77 with a 2lt engine, it has 3000 km since i repaired the engine (new piston rings, gasket, turbo etc), the injector pump was calibrated and the injerctor are fine. i always do gear shift at 2500 rpm, my tire size are 31x10.5R15...... mi lj has no modification.
fuel consumption is 15.7 liters per 100 km.... is too high... and i'm not using air conditioner....
does anybody now what could be the problem?? thanks!!
ah!! when i pressed the gas to the top there is a litle of black smoke !! but just a little!!

Running a 22R (2.4lt) i would expect 5-6k/liter which is around what you are getting. You are also running 2" bigger diameter so the distance may be a little out.

Running 34" sneakers I used to get 5k/liter from my 22R.

I assume you are running a 2L-TE? If so I would expect a little more from it maybe 7k/l.

thanks for your answers..... my engine is a 2l-T, mechanical injector pump...Another thing is that when i start the engine in the morning, i let the engine working for almost 10 minutes, is 10 minutes too much time for warming??

no wonder you getting high l/k's . I would spend a little less time idling and more time driving.

Mechanical diesel will also smoke a little as you have described especially when you push your tootsie to the floor.
