hi there, iam new to the site but not too new with the landcruiser scene, here in Fiji it is hard to get lift kits for my 71 so i have put in 80series springs in the rear which has given me a little more than a 3inch lift.

my question is since i cannot find any 80series front springs around to match a sample with, would 80series springs fit into the front of my 71 and give near the same amount of lift??

any help would be appreciated...

the 71 looks kinda funny with the nose tilting down.... if the 80series springs are also compatible for the front end i can get em on ebay and have it shipped over to me.....

we do have a 4wd shop in the country but lift kits here cost close to the price of a 2nd hand car....

anybody here HELP!!!!! :(

well seems nobody tried it before but good news all 4 springs bolt on, visually looks a lot bigger but is good to go in...

makes the ride a lot tight now.... feels like a torque bump ride...

for those who are interested, the front springs are the front coils of the 80 and the rear coils are from the rear of the 80....

Wow you are a ways up there now! How's it feel to drive; body roll in corners? Got a complete after side shot?
Thanks for posting

actually the ride is much better now....amazingly enough though i was never anticipating the handling to get better, but there is hardly any body roll, have done bends on the highway at around 100kmph (hush em up 80 is the speed limit here:crybaby:)

will take more detailed pics and upload it soon....

....

Were the 80 springs new or used? Do you have a pic of the complete vehicle.

now that i know 80series springs are inter changeable on my 71, next on the list is a set of TERRAIN TAMER 3inch lift coils for 80series into my 71........

enjoy another pic...

That must have saved you a few $$;) Can you get the 70 coils where you are? Dobinsons in australia make a good coil for these.
Ive heard if you use new 80 series springs, the ride is too hard for the lighter weight of the 70.

Yes mate, Fiji is like a heaven for parts...... used parts that is.... there are a lot of japanese used car parts dealers here....... but i chose the 80seeries springs as they give a much firmer ride... its not too bumpy.... yet the wheel articulation is excellent.... iam still using stock spec KAYABA shocks.... :hillbilly:

Thanks for posting, very nice!

You're truck's looking good now.
Would 80 series coils fit my KZJ77?
Did you have to do any other modifications to make it work? Longer brake cables?

this is how the vehicle looked like just before i sold it..... somebody please kick me now :D

krishanprasad-albums-digin-picture13030-image001.jpg

and beauh i did not change the brake cables.... mine were quite long in the first place... it may have been something done by the previous owner...

the setup above had 80series front coils at the back of the KZJ71 and LH114 4wd hiace front coils up front.... much better riding than the all 80series coil set-up.... the vehicle seems more leveled out now.... with all 80series coils the rear end was sagging a little.... hope this helps.........

Ahrgg If only I could see all those old pictures uploaded in this thread.
I got a kzj71g-pet, can anyone tell me if I could use the same stock 80 series shocks on my kzj71g (assuming ill use the identical coils from the 80 series)?
Or do I need to purchase other shocks? in that case, what measures or lengths should they have? I'm trying to lift this beast as cheap and straightforward as possible atm :D
PS: this is mine here
