My BJ71 Cruiser
Been looking through the site for a while now, some good info around, thought i'd sign up, names Blair and am in perth, west aus,
some of you may have seen pics of my truck in Gib009's thread, she is my daily driver aswell
cheers,
here she is,
-BJ71 1986 cruiser, 13B-T motor, jap import with all the electrical fruit inside
-33" cooper ST's.
-ARB bullbar, got it at a steal for $150 !!!.
-24v system electrical system, through to a redarc 60amp charge equaliser into a 12v 120a/h deep cycle battery in the drawer setup in the back.
-couple inches of lift,
-cheapo ironman shockies, but do the job quite well,
-UHF, stereo etc.
-safari snorkel
-swaybar disconnects
-arb compressor
+
-rear air locker
future mods and things still to do:
-got a cover for the compressor and battery hole, just havent got it on in pics
-maybe some sliders far down the track, current side steps bend like foil
-font locker
-possibly 35's when the 33's wear out, want to keep lower rather than higher though
let the pics do some talking, mainly phone pics so mind the quality :
with the alloy plough on the front:

with the snorkel and arb bar:
compressor + equaliser + battery setup in back

solenoid for the 12v battery:
back setup:

Thats a fairly tidy looking shorty for its age with all the right equipment. Is the body as rust free as it looks?
The bullbar was a good deal ,thats about 75% under the new price
I was happy to pay $400 for a newish Walliston bullbar

cheers, thinking about the upgrade as the stock lamps are useless !

Sweet looking shorty , the snorkel and ARB bar definately was a good adition.
I reckon if you painted those rims a dark grey or silver colour it would look even tougher

Yep they were $137 but ive seen another brand for $78 which actually look better even with std globe in the new headlight made so much diff heaps better
and the HID in the bush just light up every crack and pot hole
My mate that imports HID's is doing up another order soon ,i think these lot are around $150 depeneding on what globes you want headlight or spotties etc ive had them for a while with no probs besides the high beam blue dash light dosnt show
but another fell with hid fixed that issue but i cant find his post to fix mine

I reckon dark silver with the chrome mirrors and grill would look great, much like the 80 series gxl rim colour.
Another idea I had a friend who had a hilux and he painted his white rims dark green, a left over sukuki vitara colour from his paint shop.
He did it for a laugh and it was amazing .....it looked really good. Alot of people asked him where did he get them or would he sell them
