Where to buy a 70 series for the African Market?

Hi All,

I have a friend that is moving to start a farm in Zambia and is needing a tough farm vehicle. I recommended to him a 70 series Cruiser but I'm unfamiliar with the market over there and was wondering if a fellow Cruiserhead from there might have some info on what's available. He's looking for something newish. is it cheaper to buy and import from another location? He has an import tax exemption due to the nature of his farm.

Thanks and cheers,

Mac

If he can afford new, he might want to try Toyota of Gibraltar, they specialize in UN/Agency-spec 79 series and deliver to Africa all the time.

Zambia is only a hop skip and jump from South Africa where they sell them new.

This ZA landcruiser site might be a good place to post also

Hey guys you can buy a new 70 series from Toyota in Botswana, its a neighbouring country to Zambia and thats basically all we drive down thier, but your best option is to buy in RSA, as for engine types well most popular is the 4.2 diesel and teh 4.5 Petrol, not sure if they have the V8 yet as im overseas studieng so not up to date on whether its on teh market thier yet, But a new 70 series is definatly NOT a problem to come by in Southern Africa, you might even be able to get em in Zambia itself, as i say 70 series cruisers Are VERY popular here
hope this helps, i can source more info if you need.
