http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...x?adID=5850223

would that just be a 70 series troopie or does it have a specific model? i guess it would be left hand drive too if it's originally from iran.

It's hard to tell if it's really LHD from the pics. The "only one in NA" statement was a little hard for me to swallow (meaning the seller is totally full of shit). It would be nice though.

it's got to be LHD, look at the way the windshield wipers are facing. ex-ambulance, that's pretty cool.

If it is 1987, it's either an FJ, BJ or HJ. Wasn't there a red BJ75 for sale on this list a few weeks ago?

It's definitely not the "only one in North America" because I saw one exactly like it a couple of months ago in Abbotsford. It was exactly the same, ex-ambulance...even had the Persian writing on the sides of the vehicle still...and it was an FJ.

Body looked to be in rough shape on the one that I saw. I tried to call those people on the ad that you posted, but they weren't home.

Maybe it is "the only one in North America with Persian writing on the sides"

The fj40/45 and fj60's were used in Iran during the Iran/Iraq war, they are dime a dozen in Iran. They were sold to civilians after the war ended. My local mechanic was in the army during the war and worked on these trucks, he knows them inside out. He is shocked that people pay so much for them. The 70/75/78 series are currently used by govermental services and the cops use Nissan Petrols.

Its looking pretty beat up.
Whats that bulge on the roof? Is it an extra aircon unit or something behind the cruiser?

Iranians had super cheap fuel in the 80s so Im guessing its an FJ

Hi nmostofi Intersting info. I was wondering if you could show the pics to your local mechanic on this link and see if he recognises the 60 and 55 series.

Yup yup. It is a Middle East spec LHD FJ75 ambulance. Carbureted 3F with a 4 speed...yuck It has been popping up for sale all over for the last 2-3 years. I have seen the truck first hand. The interior, rear anyway, is gutted. The rear windows are Acid etched. It was apparently used as a camper for a handicapped Iranian, not sure where he all went but he never left Vancouver.

I was interested in it as a body/frame donor but not for $17,000

Sheldon

I wonder if he'll respect the meaning of "o.b.o" when the highest offer comes in at $6500? This Iranian guy is like the Morrocan merchants I met in Marrakech...you can bargain down from $100USD to $3.75 and still pay too much.
