check your turbo - could have blown the seals.

When the oil seal in the CT-26 on my 13BT went south I had a mosquito killing cloud behind me when the turbo would spool up. Just simply went one day. Another indicator was the oil that had forced its way from around the pyro probe (post turbo).

Sounds like the CT-26 Exhaust seal has blown - if you put colour die in your Diesel tank you could have pretty colour coming out and not just the black or grey smoke

Genuine parts kit alone just cost me almost $300USD for my blown CT26 turbo.

Exhaust smoke

WENT BACK TO ROYAL PURPLE...SMOKE IS CLEARED UP AND NO OIL OUT OF THE EXHAUST
LOOKS LIKE WHEN YOU START USING THAT OIL YOU HAVE STICK WITH IT

ANYWAY WILL DRIVE LIKE THIS FOR SUMMER AND LOOK FOR TURBO UPGRADE FOR WINTER PROJECT

THANKS

Wow...that seems strange to me. I would have also thought that the seal went on the turbo.

Maybe royal purple doesn't smoke much when it is being burnt? Check for oil consumption though. Doesn't make sense if you blow through one type of oil and nothing with a different type -- especially not immediately.

Intrigued did you accidently spill any oil? is the oil filter tight and not spewing out oil?

FOr it to suddenly clear implies the turbo was not spinning

The only thing I can think of is that there are some different additives in this brand of oil that conditions the seals ????

Ran it all day yesterday and I dont have anymore oil coming out of the exhaust..
I mean it was pouring out of there!!!

I will monitor for the next few days to see if it will continue to get better..at least now it is drivable

Thanks

Had the truck been sitting for a while? could have been water in the exhaust system. I had a BJ74 that sat for a couple of months, when I took it for a drive I thought I had blown something, huge whitish cloud down the highway that looked horrible - was just water burning off. Was fine after that and still works great. I didn't have oil coming out the tailpipe though.

The front and rear oil seals on the CT26 look like piston rings...it's not rubber like you are thinking of. So it wouldn't shrink or swell depending on the type of oil you're using.

Just noticed your sig line...out of curiousity, how high of a boost are you running?

Running between 10 to 15 psi...depends on the outside temp

Used cruiser today and running great...no more smoke or oil out the
tailpipe...

I use this truck as a daily driver so it doesn't sit for long

Thanks for all your help
