what is a clutch accumulator for??HZJ77

Hi,
any one know what is the purpose of the device called clutch accumulator that sits on top of the clutch master cylinder on a HZJ77,the line go from the master to the accumulator and then out to the slave.
can l bypass it??

any pics? its not what they put on some 60 series as well to make the clutch pedal lighter?

Is that the square thing at the end of the master cylinder. If it is what I think it is it is suppost to dampen the clutch operation reducing any shuddering.

it is bolted to the 2 bolts of the master cyl with a bracket,sits on top of the master,l installed a turbo and intercooler so the accumulator is in the way,l removed it and l will testdrive in the next few days to see how the clutch feels without the accumulator.
