Yes i am, and thats why i´m going to do what i wrote earlier. And it is also hanging way too low. It would be ripped off at first rock or log.

Wasn´t happy with the painting, so today i sanded the truck and re painted it. Much better now, but still if i were a professional painter and made quality like this, i would commit a suicide... But now it is best that i could do when being a nurse...

I don´t think so. Instead i am going to paint bead locks and some other stuff orange. So i won´t get it lost in the finish forest.

Edit: today i took the FRP top into the garage and washed it. Going to paint it tomorrow. I hope urethane paint will hold on it.
Edit2: Here´s outdoor pic and left overs painted. Including rear summer doors.

No more boring, dirty, white FRP top. After the painting i started making the pressure air system. Viair 450 24V and about 6 litre tank. No pics yet.

Against all expectations, this turned out to be a show truck. Rigs from our club waiting for the great opening event of local Toyota dealers new building.

On friday I drove BJ home from my shop for the first time since november. Great feeling! To do´s: some wiring, new oil pressure and water temp gauges, some armour for tank, transfer and transmission and something to prevent tie rod hitting the frame on full compression. And some more little things.

I changed them mainly because i haven´t done it before.

And second, i didn´t have cables and levers. I like to do things what i have never done before. Learning, you know.

1. What did you use for hold the air solenoid .. ( lockers ) and why you choose air vs cable ( don't get me wrong respect your choice only wanna know why .. )

2. Are you already re grear your axles .. ( maybe miss this part on the thread )

3. Are you planing turboed it .?

4. are you upgrading your front inners and bierfiedls .?

1. I´m not sure i understood that "hold" thing? But pneumatic cylinder that moves the locker fork, is push-pull type. I chose air mainly because i haven´t done it like this before. Learning. And i didn´t have cables and levers.

2. Other locking differential was allready 4.11. It came from BJ-75. Other one is from HJ-61 and came to me without gears. I took 4.11 gearing from BJ-40 differential and put them to that. 4.88 would be nice though... Transfer case gearing are on they way as soon as possible.

3. YES! In the future. Hopefully near future...

4. Birfs are solid Toyota quality.

They are in good shape, so no upgrading for now. Long splined inner is made by Finish metal fabricator, wich have done axles and stuff for trucks, race cars etc for about 40 years. That REALLY won´t be the weak part.

Looks like this message serves also as "to do-list".

Toyota birf are good .. but with 37" boggers and locked .. mmm I'm not sure it will hold .. all cases it depends on the terrain and you right foot ..

Those switches have the pressure relief valve that releases it from the other side of the valve. It is not nessessary to release the pressure completely. But at my switches there is also middle position where they block the pressure from both sides. Toyota lockers works differently from ARB. Air pressure just moves the fork back and forward and there is a spring that actually engages AND opens the locker when teeths are in line.

What comes to birfs, i drive with those as long as they last and WHEN they break, the i think it will be chromo time... I´ve had ordinary Longfields before and i really wasn´t happy with them. Might be strong when rock crawling, but couldn´t take enough miles with out getting worn.

Truck have been starting little bit rough and fuel pump´s been leaking. Today i dug into that problem. Pump leaked two places: between the top and pump body and from the throtle link axle. I put some sealer between the top and the body but didn´t have right size o-ring. No more leak from the body, starts well and much more power. I guess it has been sucking air in too. Still little leak from axle, but allready better. Have to open once more when i get the o-ring. By the time i was in there, turned up the fuel a bit too.

I forgot to take any pics... But here is couple from front and rear. Quite well protected steering and rear winch ready to work.

That 45 is my friends HJ-45 with H engine. It is soa, PS, welded rear, cable locker front, shortened wheel base to match with BJ-43 and shortened bed.

i have not tried posting in a finnish forum before, im not sure my finnish is up to the task. it has been a few years since i actually spoke any finnish its kind of a rare treat/challange when i do come across a finn. i lived in Lappeenranta as an exchange student for a year (06/07). learning by yourself is, i find the best way to learn that and to actually speak or write it (which explains why my finnish has gone downhill).

that HJ45 looks like a whole lot of fun. are there many places to go wheeling over there? when i was in finland i tried to meet up with a 4x4 club but it just never worked out...everybody seemed to be more into the hiking and skiing (the more enviormentaly friendly kinds stuff) as opposed to here where there are trails all over the place once you hit the bush

Your finish is just fine when you have been in Finland just for one year! I know wheelers from Lappeenranta area, for example this guy from the ih8mud: http://forum.ih8mud.com/members/axel-von-gardan.html And Lappeenranta is also very near the wheeling paradise: Russia. We make 3-4 day trips to there few times a year.

truck looks awesome! iv never really had a ton of flex...i just push the gas peddal down a little further and it seems to get me over all the same stuff the flexy guys can do
