What year model? In the US it has to be OBDII, 96 or newer.

Looks nice man, one question though: where do you keep the spare tire??

I also have an FZJ71, but it has the original style front end.

TRD over here just re-released their SC kit for the FZJ80 which has the 1FZE-FE motor. Personally, I'd go with a turbo set-up. More potential but also more complex and more expensive.

Speaking from experience, and what I have seen to a few FJZ's after they had a turbo on them. The SC from TRD is an excellent option, I had not heard that they started it up again.

Just be forwarned to NOT put a SC on an 80 series older than 95'

Cheers,

Michael

The Toyota part number for the FZJ80 supercharger is #PTR29-60097

I do not know if it will fit your vehicle but it's worth some research. CruiserDan is selling them for $3300.

I can tell you from experience the 80 series supercharger is NOT a direct bolt on for a 70 series, even though the engine in both cases is the 1FZ-FE.

The bolt pattern on the throttle body is different, so you will need to play around a bit.

I have decided to weld and re-drill two holes on the adaptor that bolts to the intake manifold.

I also need to make a flange adaptor which joins the throttle body (in new position before supercharger), and the supercharger bypass plenum. Not a deal breaker, but please be informed you will need some machining work (nice to have lathe and mill at work).

But the supercharger does bolt up to the block and all the pulleys seem to line up.

Another option you might want to consider is to turbo-charge it.

Turbo-glide out of australia just started offering a turbo for the 1FZ engine.

Turbo-Glide: Landcruiser 4.5 petrol engine 2 piece cast iron turbo exhaust

Cheers,

Michael
