full-floater/disc-brake problem
Hi, all.
On my '85 '70, I have a stock Toyota full-floater rear axle w/ stock disc brakes, the whole axle originally from an early-90's 75-series pickup. It's now the time to think of replacing rotors and pads, maybe calipers. Would anyone know the part numbers of these items? Any chance that these could be the exact same rotors, etc. as on some 80 and 100-series LCs? (I can hope, right?). I used to have the numbers noted down but I can't (and probably won't) find them. Thanks! __________________ Mike Taylor True North Toyota Land Cruisers Ottawa Valley Mar. '84 BJ42/Dec. '84 BJ70 The Killer 3Bs |

Got the PNs.
Don't anyone do any more work! I dug up the PNs with the help of Ens in Saskatchewan, the experts. Rotors and pads on their way. Thanks anyways.
It turns out that the axle is from a '97 HZJ75, something long forgotten by me. All the same, would anyone know whether these parts are interchangeable with that era of 80 or 100-series? If so, in the future I'll be able to get NAPA parts. __________________ Mike Taylor True North Toyota Land Cruisers Ottawa Valley Mar. '84 BJ42/Dec. '84 BJ70 The Killer 3Bs |

It appears the FJ cruiser have a rear disc that is the same in 5 dimensions as the 90- rear disc in a 75 series. It carries a different part# in their catalog though Untitled Document __________________ HZJ75 cab chassis 95 model ,stocker FJ73+1HZ Diesel NEW GEARBOX 1HZ =same power as 3F with 30% better fuel economy 2in Dobinsons lift.Powerdown adj shocks 33 in BFG A/T HJ61 with slidin windas regrettfully SOLD:(Volvo 740 GL Last edited by roscoFJ73; 06-26-08 at 08:05 PM. |

Hi Mike, you should have called me - I have the EPC here to get part numbers, I think I might have some rotors and pads as well - but can't say for sure.
I am pretty sure they aren't the same as the 80 series here - but they are the same as the HDJ81 series for certain years - have to cross the numbers on the EPC. ENS is your best bet though - and OEM is the way to go for rotors. SO - you gonna ctually drive that truck??? Starting the ARB front locker install tomorrow - wanna come over and help! __________________ Louis Check out my youtube videos at: www.youtube.com/lshobie Join the True North Toyota Land Cruiser Club in Ottawa http://landcruisers.ca/ |
