91 LJ71 Elec. Issues

Hey every one I am in desperate need of help. I have a 1991 LJ71 SX-5 I was driving her down the road the other day when a few idiot lights came on. My battery light (batt is now real low) turbo light, fuel filter light, AT oil temp light and e brake light are staying on as is the tone letting you know your glowplugs are warm. I have done a few searches on this site as well as on google and found one thread showing that a user on this board had the same problems as me but there was very little information. Has any one else experienced this. Any ideas on where to start and does any one know of any wiring diagrams for the instrument cluster and or accesories? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Your alternator is probably buggered. Simple test - bring it to a shop and have it checked - or just check to see if it is producing power.

lshobie Thanks for the reply!

I had my Alternator rebuilt 2 months ago but i will get it tested again.

I am anything but a mechanic But i tried pulling fuses to see if i could isolate the problem to one circuit and when i pulled the fuse marked "engine" my problems stopped but i really have no effing clue what I am doing.

I had my alternator tested it is working he said it is charging a little on the low side. I am told that it could be a problem with the computer? When i drove the truck down to the shop today My volt meter would jump up for a second and all my problems would go away. 5 seconds later it would drop down a little bit and all my problems would come back.
Any other advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks every one

Check your battery & alternator connections. A loose terminal on the alt will cause those symptoms.

Cheers
