TRANY Fill / Check Tube
Well this is unusual. I think??
I was looking under the hood of the Prado the other day and went to check the trany fluid. Grabed the stick pulled on it the stick came up along with part of the tubing that holds it.. ![]() Looks like it broke just at the bracket that is bolted to the engine block. Any fix ideas out there??? Before I wheel over to the repair shop. ??? __________________ Richard 1990 Prado SX5 LJ78 Support WWW.IVOAC.CA Pioneer AVIC-N2 Navigation System. tranny dip stick tube
And here I am thinking I was the only one. I have the same story. Undo the twelve mil bolt take the tube to your local welder and get it glued back together. I welded mine over a year ago and it hase been good ever since. Dont forget to prime and paint or fluid film it after or it will rust. Good luck

Well..
I just ordered a new one.. So all will be good when it gets here.. Thanks for sharing your fix pradocruiser. I'm wondering if it is a common failure on trucks of our vintage.. __________________ Richard 1990 Prado SX5 LJ78 Support WWW.IVOAC.CA Pioneer AVIC-N2 Navigation System.
